Stevens Group Supporting the Next Generation Through School and Industry Engagement in 2026

Throughout 2026, Stevens Group has continued to strengthen its connections with local schools and the wider community through participation in career expos, industry events and educational site visits across South Australia.
These opportunities allow our team to share industry knowledge, provide insight into the structural steel and construction sectors, and encourage young people to explore the diverse career pathways available within the industry.
Connecting with Students at Career Expos
Throughout the year, Stevens Group participated in several career expos and industry-focused events, including those hosted by Golden Grove High School, St Paul's College, Playford International College, Mark Oliphant College and St Patrick's Technical College.
These events provided valuable opportunities to engage with students at different stages of their education, sharing insights into apprenticeships, trade qualifications and the practical skills involved in pursuing a career within the construction industry.
At Golden Grove High School's Trade Hubs Showcase, Stevens Group joined industry representatives for the official opening of the school's Trade Hubs facilities. The event brought together approximately 50 students undertaking vocational studies in areas including engineering, construction, electrotechnology and plumbing, providing an opportunity to discuss apprenticeship pathways and future employment opportunities.

Playford International College's Career Expo was designed to engage approximately 1,400 students across Years 7 to 12, with younger students introduced to different industries through short career discovery sessions and older students exploring future employment and training pathways.
Similarly, St Paul's College's Career and Subject Expo brought together students, families and industry representatives to support informed career and further education decisions, while St Patrick's Technical College's Pathways to Industry Expo focused on connecting students with opportunities in vocational education, skilled trades and apprenticeships.

Providing Industry Insight Through School Site Visits
In addition to attending career expos, Stevens Group welcomed students from several local schools for educational site visits throughout 2026, including The Heights School, Flinders Technical College, Thomas More College and Cardijn College.
These visits provided students with firsthand exposure to a working structural steel environment, offering insight into the processes, equipment, skills and teamwork involved in delivering structural steel projects.
By connecting with industry professionals and experiencing a workplace environment, students gained a greater understanding of how their education and practical skills can translate into future career opportunities.
Investing in the Future of Our Industry
At Stevens Group, we recognise the importance of supporting the next generation of skilled workers and encouraging young people to consider careers within the construction and structural steel industries.
Our continued involvement with local schools and educational institutions reflects our commitment to promoting industry awareness, supporting career development and strengthening the connection between education and employment.
We thank the schools, organisers and students involved in this year's events and look forward to continuing these valuable partnerships in the years ahead.
