Purpose
This policy defines Stevens Group’s commitment to Work Health and Safety (WHS) and outlines the company’s WHS goals of continuous improvement.
Scope
This policy applies to all Stevens Group workers, contractors, visitors and any other person(s) who perform work, or are present at a Stevens Group site, location or workplace. Stevens Group is involved in the provision of Estimating, Drafting and Manufacturing of structural metal, steel, and other metal products for commercial structural purposes.
Policy
Stevens Group is committed to meeting its legal and moral obligations regarding the provision of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) of all persons at its workplaces. We acknowledge that WHS is a critical component of our business and management activities and are committed to operating incident and injury free as so far is reasonably practicable.
In line with Section 19 of the WHS Act 2012, it is the responsibility and aim of Stevens Group to minimise the risk of injury and disease to employees and other persons, by deliberate management of work health and safety and providing the resources for successful implementation and continual improvement. It is also the responsibility and aim of Stevens Group to provide safe maintenance, storage and handling of plant, materials, facilities and structures relating to compliance with WHS (or OHS) Acts and Regulations.
In line with Section 28 of the WHS Act 2012, all employees who work for any division of Stevens Group have the responsibilities of observing work health and safety requirements. In doing so to protect their own health and safety, and to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of any other person by their acts or omissions, while complying with reasonable instruction given, and all policies and procedures of Stevens Group.
Stevens Group regard injury and illness within the workplace as preventable, and safety is viewed as a fundamental element of operational success. Hence Stevens Group management, its workers, and others associated with the company will commit to the following principles:
